It brings a smile to my face…
When I finish editing a set and export it from Lightroom to be uploaded here, I take a moment and view a quick slideshow of what I just edited.
Shooting is not even half of the battle. I spend at least triple the time it takes to shoot in editing. And any photographer will tell you that doing full retouch on 20+ images is exhausting. It takes me between a half to a full hour to retouch a single image. Here’s a secret: I’m not a huge fan of sitting in front of a computer for hours on end, especially after a long day at the day job. I’m not going to lie: there are days when I look and my computer and say: “Nope. Not today. Fuck it.”
All the behind the scenes stuff that makes this site possible is also not something I’m a fan of. It was a huge learning curve for me getting this site to where it is today, and it still has its shortfalls.
Mostly, creating all this content is a pain in the ass.
But, when I sit back and watch that slide show of the images I just finished, all the internal bitching and whining dissipates. Seeing those finished images brings a smile to my face. At times there’s a little disbelief that I’m the one who made that image. And when the models fawn all over them with glee, that makes it all worth it.
I’m quite proud of what I’ve done, and I’m delighted to be able to share with those who are able to see it. I continue to grow Black Label Magazine so that more can enjoy and appreciate my interpretation of sensual and erotic art. I’m especially proud of this latest round of imagery I’ve created in my new studio. I’m proud to have a studio that is truly my own, so that the nude art I create here is truly exclusive. And I’m especially proud that this has all been achieved in lieu of all the obstacles and hardships if 2016.
My hope is that what you see here brings as big a smile to your face as it does to mine.
